collection four process 1

Hi
Finally, Let's move on to the last piece of my collection.
Thinking about my favourite sweets, I wanted to do something related to jelly especially gummy bear. When I eat gummy bear I always make a row with them in colour order and eat it one by one. So I wanted to include that kind of innocence of childhood.

I started with searching images of gummy bears.

So at first I tried to make a big front toe of gummy bear but it was so difficult for me and didn't know how to do it. By following Zoe's advice I decide to put gummy bears on outsole using different colours.

For the type of shoes, I wanted to try sneakers but a bit special which I haven't cover with my other collections.

Then I found Balenciaga's shoes which looks like socks.

So I took similar approach with this. Then I change the collar line a bit by making it a bit thicker.

I looked on the Balenciaga's Website to get the fabric and information.

This part I used for the main body.

This texture for collar.

After this step I had to add something on the shoes because it looked so empty so I decided to add shoes laces.

So search a sweet brand called Weeny Beeny and went on to the website.

I wanted to add this type of jelly but I could not find more specific images of the product so I search on google again.

I used this type of image and used Lasso tool in Photoshop and pasted it on the the m=body part and adjusted the size with transform tool.

This is the final piece of image. I like the fact that the jelly goes well with the fabric as a shoe lace and all the various colour on the outsole. However I also think that what if I have done a different approach to the subject jelly. What if I illustrate it in different way.For example, using jelly button instead of shoe laces or setting jelly beans as my main object and cover it around the collar. Even so, I am still quite satisfied with my work. It looks sour and chewy.

Thank you for your time.

  1. Could you add a bit more reflection and possibly identify how you could have done the illustration differently? Especially if you are only quite satisfied with the design. Other than that, your process for all of your designs have shown a really good level of description and technical software knowledge.

    1. Thank you for your advice Carrie. As you recommended, I tried to explain more about my reflection by giving some examples and updated it.
